Campus Staff Spotlight | Kevin Baab

While our primary focus of Campus on Lake Austin is servicing and supporting the wonderful education leaders that join us for their programs, we are also responsible for promoting this one-of-a-kind venue to the meetings and event community at large. To facilitate that, we are truly fortunate to welcome Kevin Baab as our Sales Manager.

He will be handling all external group and catering sales requests for the Campus. If you are looking to book a multi-day corporate meeting or the wedding of your dreams, Kevin Baab is your guy.

This hospitality veteran is a welcome addition to our team.

What is your name and title?  Kevin Baab, Sales Manager

Where were you born?  North Richland Hills, Texas

Please briefly detail your professional experience. I have customer service and sales in my blood: Thirteen years in reservations sales and customer care with Southwest Airlines, seven years at Lakeway Resort & Spa in conference planning and catering sales, eight years at Barton Creek Resort & Spa in corporate catering and 5 years in group sales at Hotel Granduca Austin.

Where is your favorite travel destination and memory?  I lived in Thailand for a year and was continually impressed by the positive spirit of the people, their amazing and dynamic food, crafts and traditions, and the colorful history of the regions.

Where have you not yet been able to visit, but have always wanted to?  Italy is on my list!  The history, the sites and especially the food! Every region has its specialty and I cannot wait to try it all.

What is your favorite thing about Austin?  The lifestyle it brings to you.  The best in all types of food, so much music, the mix of people, the beautiful and challenging trails, and the arts.  It is all here and ready for you to love Austin living.

What does having a position at Campus on Lake Austin mean to you?  As the spouse of a 40-year career educator, it is so exciting to be a part of an effort to positively activate and educate our public school leaders.  Nothing is more important than enriching the learning of our future generations.
